HANAMI aims to promote a long-standing partnership around high-performance computing between the EU and Japan, and thus a significant effort is dedicated to engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of the collaboration.
About the Activity
EuroHPC JU facilitates progressive access to both mature scientific applications and those still in development or testing, encompassing the full HPC value chain, along with AI and Data Analytics. It offers unified access for AI and data-intensive applications, supported by a diverse range of high-end architectures across EuroHPC JU supercomputers.
To complement this, HANAMI will establish a sustainable framework for collaboration between European and Japanese partners, focused on the development and optimization of HPC applications. The project brings together research institutions, support organizations, industry players, funding bodies, and policymakers, while also building connections with other European projects and regional cooperation initiatives.
Key Objectives
Build a broad and inclusive community of research organizations, innovation and research funders, industrial stakeholders, policymakers, and related collaborative projects and initiatives between the EU and Japan;
Facilitate dialogue on long-term cooperation in high-performance computing;
Establish sustainable structures to support enduring collaboration;
Identify key exploitable outcomes from the project and develop a roadmap for continued cooperation beyond the projectโs lifetime.
