Leopekka Saraste is a Junior Application Specialist at CSC – IT Center for Science, Finland’s ICT center of expertise supporting research, development, and innovation activities.

 

At CSC, he works in the HPC Support group as a GPU Application Specialist.

There, Leopekka has contributed to the development of Elmer/Ice, an open-source multiphysics simulation software.

 

Leopekka has also served as a lecturer, providing training on supercomputer usage to CSC’s HPC users during the organization’s annual summer school in HPC, as well as in other courses.

He holds a background in computer science from the University of Helsinki.

 

In HANAMI, his tasks include porting European and Japanese weather and climate codes to the LUMI supercomputer.
