Giacomo Giorgi

 Since 2016 Giacomo Giorgi (GG) is Associate Professor in Chemistry at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (DICA) at the University of Perugia, where he graduated in 1999 and took his PhD (2003). 

 

His research activity focuses on the ab-initio study of electronic and optical properties of materials for technological applications. GG is author of approximately 120 publications including articles in international peer-reviewed journals, several book chapters, and review articles. 

 

He keeps several collaborations active. Among them the most longstanding is that with the University of Tokyo (Koichi Yamashita and Hiroshi Segawa) where he had been Specially Appointed Researcher (特任研究員, Tokunin kenkyū-in) @Dept. of Chemical System Engineering (until 2015) and Project Assistant Professor (特任助教, Tokunin jokyō) @RCAST (Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, 2012-2013). He has been project partner in several transnational collaborations with Japan, the most recent being the NEDO project (“Development of materials for Pb free perovskite tandem solar cells”). 

 

In Hanami project, GG participates to the WP6 as Task leader (“Sustainable materials for photovoltaics”).
