HANAMI is a beneficial collaboration for both Europe and Japan, two regions with similar but different HPC structures, since it promotes the exchange of technologies, human resources and perspectives.

It’s great that we have these groups meeting together from different EU countries and Japan. And I think the research they’re doing is all quite interdisciplinary.

HANAMI is a scientific-oriented collaboration and community-making focused on three scientific fields. The top-level scientists are contributing to their good collaboration, and it will be a great international collaboration framework.

HANAMI brings together many different and complementary skills, which is crucial in science today. And we know the progress in science today relies heavily on interdisciplinary research and the ability to do HPC. That’s why HANAMI is really a key project in the future of science.

I think there are two aspects to HANAMI, which I’ve been really struck by. First of all, the great opportunity and collaboration between the EU and Japan. And secondly, the vision across three very different applications to see which ideas can be shared across them.

This collaboration allows us to combine genomics with advanced simulation and machine learning methods, unlocking new insights into the origins of cancer and potential treatments

With HANAMI, we can exchange common knowledge to accelerate collaboration between Europe and Japan. Doing so through our research activities, which is quite nice, is a very good opportunity to exchange our knowledge.

HANAMi is bringing together core teams and experts from Europe and Japan to design future materials, enhance biomedical discovery and take on climate challenges. Europe and Japan are determined to make significant and durable changes for HPC and AI.

The HANAMI project gives a chance to work with some of the most skilled professionals in the world in this field.
